How long is each term?

Our calendar runs in conjunction with the academic school year. Usually each term is around 11 or 12 weeks long, with a week off for mid-term break. Details are available for each class on the Book a Class page. 

 

How much does it cost?

What if my child misses a class?

If you know in advance that your child is going to miss a class, do let us know and we will do our best to fit them into a different class for their age group that week. 

 

Do you do ‘tester’ classes?

This is not something that we offer, but instead we do ‘one off’ online classes during school holidays & mid-term. Participation in these classes give a good example of how Doodle Box works. Keep an eye on the website and social media for details of these, or send us an email expressing your interest and we’ll let you know when the next ones are happening. 

 

Can siblings attend?

Absolutely, siblings are very welcome. 

 

My child has special needs, can you accommodate them?

We endeavour to facilitate all children in our classes. We cannot provide an individual assistant for children with special needs, but have facilitated parents providing this person for their child. The best thing to do is to make contact with us so that we can discuss your child’s needs and how best to support them. All children are welcome in Doodle Box. 

 

What’s in the Doodle Bag?

The contents of the Doodle Bag differ each term, but it will usually contain a sketch pad, art t-shirt, paint, paint brush, pastels, assortment of paper and card for working on and an assortment of craft materials. Each section is labeled for each class, so that there can be no confusion. 

 

Does my child need to bring the Doodle Bag to class every week?

Yes, they should bring it every week. They should also bring a pencil, rubber, pencil parer, some colours (markers etc) scissors, glue stick and some wipes. (This is part of our Covid compliance policy: we are not sharing materials and are eliminating time spent at the sinks as this tends to be a place for congregation) 

 

What will classes be like when you get back to your venues?

We take all precautions to be Covid compliant. We have had to make some necessary changes.

  1. Children will be collected outside the building and brought into the art studio. They will be collected from the same location outside the building after class. 

  2. Children will be seated in pods of 6, and will remain in these pods for the duration of the term. Friends will be seated together if requested. If there are siblings in a pod, it can be extended to include them.

  3. Children will not be encouraged to move around the room or to use the sinks. 

  4. Please ensure that children have used the toilet before class as they cannot be accompanied if they need to leave the room to use the toilet during class. 

  5. Children will bring their Doodle Bags to class each week, so that there is no sharing of materials.

  6. Hand sanitiser will be provided to the children at the start of and at the end of class.

  7. There will be 30 minutes between each class to ensure complete cleaning of the art studio, using anti-viral cleaning agents.
